The Software suite consists of several products. Depending on the obtained Edition you can have access to all of them or just a subset. Though, the Ventuz Installer on our Downloads Page always comes with all of them and also installs each of them. This is because you can test all products and features - even if you do not have a license for them. There are just some limitations that prevent you from using the software in production environments.
Following is an overview of the products and their purposes and features.
Ventuz Designer is the authoring tool used for creating Ventuz scenes and content. It is a powerful node-based toolset for working with realtime graphics, data and logic. But if you are reading this documentation, chances are you already know this.
No matter how you plan to play out your project, this is always the starting point and the software with which you create, edit and maintain your presentations.
For information on how to use the Designer see the pages in the Ventuz Designer category of the User Manual or have a look at one of the Quick Guides.
Ventuz Runtime is the playout engine for Ventuz projects, whether for video walls, broadcast graphics, touchscreen installations or projection mapping events or any other application that you come up with.
For more information on how to work with the Runtime to play out your presentations see the pages in the Ventuz Runtime & Configuration category or have a look at the System Engineer Quick Guide.
Ventuz Director is a template-based show control application. Where the Ventuz Designer is an authoring tool used to design visually rich and highly interactive content, Director focuses exclusively on the job of controlling and driving such content as part of a show. It is, unlike Designer, built with a shallow learning curve in mind and is intended for non-specialist operators to learn to drive quickly and easily.
For information on how to work with the Director see the pages in the Ventuz Director category or start with the Index Page of that section.
