This page provides a useful and extensive list of common Drag and Drop operations inside Ventuz that can speed up your workflow a lot. These Shortcuts can be seperated in several categories based on the dragged Element and the target in the Ventuz User Interface.
You can drag and drop some Content Nodes in the Hierarchy Editor. When doing so, the required Hierarchy Node will be generated and automatically bound to the dropped Content Node. This operation currently exists for the following Nodes with the explained result:
Creating a Material with a bound Texture Property
You can drag and drop some Content and Hierarchy Nodes in the Layer Editor. When doing so, the required Layer Type is generated and bound to the dropped Node or the dropped Node will work as an Alias of the actual Layer. This operation currently exists for the following Nodes with the explained result:
Creating a 2D Layer with a bound Texture Property
Creating a Layer of a specific Type instead
You can drag and drop all Texture Providers on a Material Node. When doing so, the target Material Node creates a New Material Stage and binds its Texture Property to the dropped Texture Provider. This operation currently exists for the following Nodes:
You can drag and drop most supported File Formats to create the according File Loader Node. See the Supported Formats Page for more details on which files are supported exactly. This operation currently exists for the following Asset Types with the explained result:
Create File Loader
When you don't want to copy the File to your project, you can also reference its original location by Ctrl+ dragging and dropping.
You can also drag and drop Images directly from your Web Browser to copy it to your project or reference its original location on the internet.
Instead of creating a Workbook Node and an according Excel Cell Node, you can directly drag and drop the wanted Excel Cell in the Content Editor. To drag an Excel Cell, click and hold its Frame.
You can drag and drop some supported File Types directly to the Hierarchy Container to create the according Hierarchy Node together with the needed Node Network. This operation currently exists for the following Asset Types with the explained result:
Create Material with a bound Texture Property to created File Loader
Create Geometry Import Node with already generated Subtree
Create Mesh Loader
When you don't want to copy the File to your project, you can also reference its original location by Ctrl+ dragging and dropping. This does not work for 3D Mesh Files since they are only used to generate Ventuz Mesh Files.
You can drag and drop most supported File Types to the Layer Editor to create an according Layer. This operation currently exists for the following Asset Types with the explained result:

You can drag and drop all File Types in the Document Bar that you can also drop in the Layer Editor. This will create a New Scene with the needed Layer. As a result this works for the following File Types:
