The Ventuz Director features built-in Transitions to blend or animate between two Templates or Scenes. Transitions can be easily added to a cued Template. In addition to the built-in Transitions, the Scene Transition technology introduced in Ventuz Version 8 enables custom transitions. Refer to How To Build a Custom Transition Scene for detailed instructions.
This page focuses solely on the Director side of Scene Transitions; For the built-in Transitions, no extra steps are necessary.
The Transitions are located next to the Assets window in the default layout. To enable or disable the Transitions window, click the Window menu and click Transitions. Each transition is represented by a thumbnail, a title, and a description, similar to how Templates are displayed.
To add a Transition to a Template, follow one of these methods:
Drag and Drop: Cue a Template, then drag and drop the desired Transition onto the property editor. | Using the Transition Tab: Open the Transition tab in the property editor of the cued Template, click Scene Transition, and select a Transition. |
With a cued Transition, the configuration of the Transition, such as its duration or other specific settings, is adjusted in the Property Editor.
To reuse a Template with a selected Transition and its specific settings, create a Page. The properties of the Transitions set in the Property Editor are saved to the Page and reloaded when applied.
When a cued Template and its Transition are added to the Playlist, the Transition properties are also included. For an existing Playlist, the Transition can later be added or edited in the Transition column of the Playlist.
To use custom Scene Transitions, go to Show --> Project --> Published Scenes and select the Scene that contains the custom Transition(s). The custom Transitions will appear in the Transition window and are handled the same way as the built-in ones.
