The internationally acclaimed game show format ‘Who’s asking’ has made its way to India. Running under the name ‘India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun’, the show was aired for the first time this year on the newly launched channel &TV and is hosted by Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan.
Indian agency Simply Green was responsible for creating the center piece of the show: an LED wall which features an animated carousel of portraits. The idea of the game is as follows: When the carousel comes to a stop, four of the portraits land in a highlighted field. Each contestant can then select one or these four people and the system will play a video of them asking a question which the contestant has to answer.
Simply Green used Ventuz to put this concept into reality. Using a custom C# script to manage the rotation logic, the entire graphics flow was set up in one Ventuz machine and brought into the 3 HD LED panels seamlessly. The videos were brought in as QuickTime movies and layered onto 3D objects. Even under the pressure of handling a large amount of video footage, the system didn’t falter. Additionally, Ventuz triggered music, MIDI and lighting.
She show received positive reviews across the board and has helped &TV to quickly gather a loyal crowd in its first weeks of operation.
