German version of Project Runway uses multitouch application to help the buyers place their bids.
Project Runway is one of the most popular shows in American television. Finally, the format has made its way across the pond and is now broadcast under the name Fashion Hero in Germany. Spokesperson and main jury member is German supermodel Claudia Schiffer. The show features young fashion designers who compete against each other by offering their collections to professional buyers of department stores and online shops.
The German agency Cliparts.TV provides interactive technology and graphics for Fashion Hero and has used Ventuz to provide each buyer with a custom multitouch application, they named “Vote-by-Touch”. Via a touch-screen inside their desk the buyers can use a slider to make their offers. When all offers are locked in, screens on the frontside of the desks display the bid for the designer, jury and TV-viewer to see. Additionally, the entire auction is shown on an LED backdrop on stage.
