South Korea is a world leader when it comes to information technology. In 2012, the country launched the Giga Korea Project, an initiative to provide broadband internet connections for every citizen until 2020. To celebrate this project, the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning hired agency Eric C&C to create an immersive digital experience for 2015 DMC Festival in Seoul.
Eric C&C designed and installed Korea’s first holo-cube, a media room with LED walls on three walls, floor and ceiling. The content showed a digital world in 3D space which visitors could step into. From underwater scenarios to mountain ranges, from pop music events to wild special effects shows, visitors were immerged into the content.
Additionally, Eric C&C created speed experiencing games as well as 360° clips of Jeju Island which could be experienced through Oculus Rift.
