UltraHD plus multi-touch – the combination of these two technologies made waves at ISE 2014. Ventuz sported a few of these applications.
The German agency Realtime Department is a regular at ISE in Amsterdam, equipping the booth of their partner Lang AG with the finest in interactive multimedia installations available on the market. Their software tool of choice for real-time applications is Ventuz, which they use to the fullest of the software’s capabilities. In 2014, the combination of 4k displays and interactive technology was a central part of their work.
Highlight of the Lang AG booth was an interactive pinball game, which consisted of an 65” 4k multi-touch primeTOUCH screen for the game and a smaller screen for the displaying of counters and leaderboards. Players could have up to three balls racing through the real-time pinball world, which resembled the interior of a 4K Laser Phosphor Projector. Not only were users entertained, they could also learn something about the technology.
Realtime Department is well known as a creator of interactive video walls – naturally, they had a few of these on display at ISE as well. One consisted of three 55” seamless primeTOUCH UltraNarrow screens. When approaching the video wall, the silhouette of the onlooker was tracked and translated into the presentation, where the shape of the person was used to open digital windows to the real-time content. The second interactive video wall installation was an old friend: the Graffiti Wall, an installation which allowed users to become virtual street artists.
Another tech-highlight was a 90” multi-touch screen, a massive beauty, which sported a car configurator application. Realtime Department used Ventuz for all their installations at ISE and once again showed great creativity and design skills.
