Real Time Graphics brings Ventuz to renowned US skateboard tournament.
Street League is a series of skateboarding events held annually in the US. The series ranks among the most renowned urban sports tournaments worldwide and is broadcast by a-class sports network ESPN. Street League deploys their very own scoring system called ISX. It provides wireless hand-held controllers for judges to score individual tricks rather than overall performances, thereby revolutionizing the world of skateboarding events.
Florida based company Real Time Graphics (RTG) developed a one-stop-shop on-air graphics solution for the Street League Events. “We provide our SkateGFX™ software,” explained Kelly Lewis, Project Manager at RTG. “It utilizes the 3D real-time tool Ventuz to bring statistics and scoring to the viewer via lower-thirds, leaderboards and a custom scoreboard that resides in the top section of the screen.” With Ventuz’ robust data acquisition methods, RTG taps into the ISX Scoring system and is able to visualize the scoring data with minimal delay.
“The success we’ve had with RTG, and the flawless graphics they’ve provided through their knowhow, brainpower and Ventuz graphics platform, has been a critical component in the success of Street League Skateboarding and our ability as producers to provide live scoring for our television viewers,” said Hugh Arian, Executive Producer at Echo Entertainment.
ESPN brought the Street League 2012 Series to viewers in 198 countries all across the globe. The 2013 Series is already being planned with RTG and Ventuz in discussion.
